Poison Arrow Frog

   I am writing about my works.  This time, it is about the coffee cup with a frog.

 
I contained the secret message in the cup design.

 “Taking caffeine is good for us but not too much. 
Enjoy your coffee with care”.

  I have been interested in a poison since I started studying fungi.  I went to the exhibition of “Poison” years ago. 
It introduced different kinds of poisons and venoms but in the end of the contents, it also exhibited the importance of studying poisons and venoms to create a new medicine or cure diseases.  Poison Arrow Frog is one of examples that we found a poison and component of a medicine.  I also like the fact that this tiny frog is very colourful and carries the baby on its back from a place to a place to let the baby survive. 
  Both fungi and the poisonous frog have no purpose to kill us.  The problem is us.  It, as it were, how we use them, why we use them and what we use for.

I made the cups with red and yellow poison arrow frogs.  For my opinion, cups with yellow one is more popular than red.  I tried to make frog molds to make frog’s part quickly but, unfortunately, it did not work (I am just poor at making a mold….) so I made each frog parts one by one.  People seem to like the frog which looks vibrant.  Some people may think a poison frog on the cup is a bad taste but I think it is a harmless black joke.
